Two prongs run out from a moulded handle, long enough to turn and lift a steak as well as read it. A backlit screen sits on the upper face with two buttons below it, one stepping through meat types and the other through how far cooked it should be. A small light set into the shaft throws forward onto the grill, so the screen stays legible after dark. The prongs are slim, leaving little mark in the meat.
